My husband, who does have cancer (Peroll) found a lump in his neck a few weeks ago and immediately called his oncologist and saw him the next day. It was a huge concern given his cancer is metastasizing in a few unrecognized places for colon cancer to spread. The lump turned out to be a stone in a duct easily fixed by drinking lemon juice, which while not tasty certainly is an easy fix.

Try not to panic, there are several reasons for lumps in the neck. My husband had several of them and it turned out to be Graves disease...He ended up taking the exact same medication I was taking for cancer of the thyroid. He had lost a lot of weight and was very nervous and jumpy. Once on the meds he became himself again. We were taking the same medicine but for different reasons. His thyroid kept making more and more lumps on the side of his neck. You could also have a goiter . I had one lump at the base of my neck which could only be seen when I swallowed..I had my Thyroid removed in 2004 and never had any trouble with it since. I found a lump last Fall and it turned out to be Invasive Lobular Carcinoma . The Breast cancer has nothing to do with my Thyroid cancer. Two different types .Lots of people will be thinking of you and wishing you well, we all want you to do is get well. All the best,,hugs.

I've had a lump on my neck for many years. It is a sebaceous cyst. I understand your concern, but is it the lump that is freaking you our or that your oncologist has ordered an ultrasound? I'm not really sure what you are asking or wanting to know.

Nancy, I guess I am freaking out because he found the lump and had ordered an ultrasound. I need to learn to relax a little but I am having a hard time doing that these days. I never stressed until I finished all of my treatments, once I was done Bam, I just worry too much. I go in today for the ultrasound and then I have t go for an MRI tomorrow. The Mri is to see if anything is going on in my chest wall. I am so glad I have this sight to turn to because I hate to worry my family or friends. Thanks everyone.
