Port issues...

Port issues...
Does anyone have experience with port failure?? I have Crohn's Disease and recently was ordered to have a power port placed. In about 5 weeks I've gone through 2 seperate port surgeries. I'm rly annoyed bc this second port isn't working either so my doctor is sending me back for a port study tomorrow, which if failed, will mean that I'll have to have another surgery to remove/replace it with another port. I'm so frustrated. Everyone in my family keeps telling me to have it taken out but it takes so long for them to do a normal IV on me. What should I do? I should also add that this entire time my port has been burning, aching and throbbing. No fever, no infection.
