Post Partial Nephrectomy Surgery
My fiancee (36) had a partial nephrectomy (2.8cm stage 1 grade 4 cancerous tumor) removed from her right kidney in Nov 2011 and is still experiencing these symptoms: Shooting pain through right side of body (were it was performed), causes extreme achyness, right eye twitches and vision in right eye has went from 2.50 to 3.00, right ear gets muffled or ringing, "feels like right side has been used as punching bag", right ring finger and pinkie goes numb most of the day, causes severe pain in neck and right jaw and throughout right side of her head, neck skin is sore to touch. These are the symptoms.
She's had CT scans, MRI, blood drawn, been to Pain specialists (2), been to ER 15-20 times, doctor's visits over 25 times, and 2 neurologists who both have included the nerves are firing. Injections to illeogastric nerve. She performed 2 painful sessions of physical therapy. We are stuck.
Her current medications or former medications are Hydrocodone (vicodin), Baclofen, Lyrica

Hi mobrien,
I just wanted to let you know that I've reached out on our social networks to see if we can find you someone who has had similar experience and can give you some insight. We are working on it for you!
How is your fiancee feeling now? Any better?
Thanks,
Karen

She's in the same spot as we speak, they've got her on Lyrica 50 mg, 8 mg of Xanaflex and valium 5 mg to calm her anxiety. Both medications put her to sleep and she feels like she has no energy. The pain has been better, I think. When she's talking she has noticed some hallucinations, I'm just stuck what to do. She hasn't taken as many Vicodins the past two days which is promising. She was on 8-10 a day but past few days just 4 taken over 2 day span. We are scheduled for accupuncture this Friday! It's another option we are exploring. Karen, I appreciate the community answering me, as I feel helpless and useless. I've left message for a couple of people who haven't gotten back to me, but just answering me and knowing that someone is out there helps. I want to help and take the pain away...thanks, Mike

Please know we are here for you in any way we can. Since it seems nobody has that specific experience, you might want to ask a more general question about being a caregiver, or even about acupuncture might help to get the conversation started and heaping you to connect with others.
