Probiotics, do any of you take them?

What are the benefits of taking it? My Nurse recommended that I take it but didn't explain why.

I did take them for a short time. I didn't see any benefit from them. But, I was already in pretty good shape. They are supposed to help with digestion and keeping your systems bacteria? in proper balance. Something like that, I'll admit I don't understand the whole thing.

I am taking them because I have digestion issues. I have been on and off them for a few years. It's just something they recommend.

I just take yogurt it has enough, unless of course you are lactose intolerant.

I take greek yogurt a couple of times a week because all of these chemicals kill off beneficial bacteria in the gut and I do not want to accidentally get C.difficile bacteria (again). It also can help to keep thrush away while you are trying to do chemo and radiation. (according to my chemo nurses).

Yes, I take probiotics to maintain good digestive health as per my Doctor's instruction. Unfortunately I don't have a way to know if they are useful or not.
My fault for not asking! I will now.
