Proton treatment centers in US and worldwide?

I cannot seem to find any single source on line or from any of the cancer support groups (e.g. American Cancer Society, WhatNext, UsToo, ProtonBob, .....) that provides a complete list of proton treatment centers in operation and in construction for US and worldwide. I found piece meal information from the proton manufacturers and from Procure but nowhere can I find a comprehensive list. Does anyone out there have such information? Thanks.

http://www.proton-therapy.org/map.htm I don't know if you've looked at this one or not, but here is one from the Proton Therapy.org. There aren't too many of them built and functioning yet.

So find the closet one and plan on going. Call the ACS as they can provide very low cost short term hotel rates. Go where ever you need to in order to get the treatment you need.

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix is midway through construction and should be open in 18-24 months. From what I understand they are also building a facility in Rochester.

P.S. They are hiring 150 people to staff the new treatment center in Phoenix.

GregP_WN, the link you have provided only lists centers that are members of the National Association for Proton Therapy. Apparently there are a number of centers that are non-members of this organization. Tried ACS and their list is not even up-to-date same with ProtonBob's site. Really surprised the lack of current listings. A good example is proton centers within Midwest. ACS and other info say there are only two with one in Bloomington, Indiana and another in Warrenville (near Chicago) but based on what I found out there are two more with one in Ohio and another in St. Louis.

I believe you are correct in that it does seem they would get together and have one master list. But that's just common sense thinking on my part. We have one being built in East TN that won't be open for another year.

CAS1, ACS can only provide special hotel rates in certain areas and not all the cancer treatment centers. In Chicago's Warrenville ProCure Cancer Center, ACS has no such programs in or near that town but ProCure and the surrounding hotels do offer special corporate discounts to all patients. Even with the corporate discount, you are still looking at over $4,000 just in hotel stay for the 9-week treatment plus meals. People who are from out of town, retired and on limited income may have problem coming up with that kind of money. ACS does not offer any other kinds of financial assistance except a gas card for transportation.
