    RCC jouney

Should I expect a life long journey with RCC mets to lungs & lymph node in the same area? I have had IL2 treatments with 2 hospital stays 8 rounds each time. Just wanting to be realistic.

I have a different cancer so others here will have some advice but for me, I just concentrate on one day at a time and live in the moment. I haven't and never will ask about my life expectancy as you will see from others on here, that everyone's journey is different and people defy the odds often given by doctors. Many here have lived way beyond what doctors have told them as no one really knows when their time is up.

Tracypap has given some good advice. We're all different, with different bodies, immunities, resistance, and different Cancer cells. I have had RCC for over 15 years. I have metastases in my lungs, pancreas, remaining kidney and liver. I lead a relatively active life and am grateful for each day. In other words, don't waste time being hesitant. As soon as you feel up to it, continue some hobbies, maybe your job, and become part of your social group again. Helping others takes your mind off your illness and helps others to live a fuller life. I am active in my church and find satisfaction in that. I also have friends who can make me laugh. They are precious souls.
Once you are feeling a bit better, don't hesitate to go on with your life, and thank God for it.

Expect a life long journey with RCC, Yes, be controlled by it, heck NO! As the others have said, each experience is different. I am now NED after having it on Lymph node, lung and Thyroid but is not visible. Doc said Sutent and meds the rest of my life and I am OK with that. Have made some lifestyle changes but still active. I have started another journey and as my son is 12, I have lots of things to do and time to spend with him and my wife. Give you lemons, make lemonade.
