    Rectum/Anus removal, then Colostomy Bag

So, we are super new to this, not sure how this site works quite yet. Hubby has stage IIIB colon cancer at the very bottom of his rectum. He was told today they are going to remove his rectum and anus and then obviously need a colostomy bag! He has not started any treatment, yet, but will start radiation soon, and chemo I'm pretty sure, before doing surgery.

Any advice or websites for support more specific to his situation? He had not really been doing any research into this so was quite surprised (although I had looked into it more and had warned him that it would be a possibility. I think he was in a little bit of denial). Any help or tips would be appreciated. Thanks
