Reposting the link on Chem/radiation/surgery for advance stage Lung Cancer

This is very important data for anyone recently Diagnosed and considering treatment. Keep in mind that this data was collected even before new IMRT-SBRT and Chemos like Alimta and several others were introduced so I think the results could be even better than the 34% survival given the progress from 2004 until now. Lets say I sincerely hope its better for all of us.

Greg as you know this is why being treated at a top name Cancer facility is so important. For instance lets look at Chicago. If you went to University of Chicago where part of this study was done you would be offered surgery at stage III after chemo/ Radiation.. This would offer you a 35% or better chance of being alive in 5 years.

If you went to Northwestern Hospital, also a good hospital but not an NCI cancer center, you would not be offered surgery and would only have a 13% chance of being alive in Five years.

The difference is staggering. And this is why I do research all day long.

Also by looking at only the LC stats on the internet you would never know that this stat was out there. This is proof the numbers are all bad.
