      Hi Lauren,
Good luck with your fundraising efforts, I would share with all your friends and family and of course post on your FB page. But please do not expect any help from strangers unless your story gets some air time on a news station. There are too many needy people right now and most people have a hard taking care of their own families, and unfortunately there are far too many con artist out there claiming to have diseases in order to get some $.
But my suggest to you is to immediately ask for a social worker or cancer navigator at your hospital or cancer center, because they should know about any local organizations that might help you. And also please give a call to patient services, or whatever department helps patients out with financial problems, because your hospital should have some sort of funding available to help low income people. Mine has a charity care program and I was accepted in it to get help with my medical bills which made a huge difference to me! My social worker pushed the hospital to help me and helped with the paperwork as well.
      Good luck and best wishes!

Thank you for the info! I was wary of the website for that reason at first, but it's actually going well so I think it will be successful. I knew it was a stretch, so many people on here are fighting cancer right now, but thought well, it can't hurt! I have been applying for government assistance but they keep "losing" my paperwork and I am continually faxing them. Thank you for taking the time to answer! I really do appreciate it :)

      Hi Lauren,
Just hang in there, it took me awhile to be approved for charity care at my cancer center but it did come through eventually with the help of my social worker. Unfortunately it can take awhile to get approved for temporary disability also but a social worker might be able to help you with that as well.
My friends threw a fundraiser party for me which helped a lot with my medical bills and prescription cost, we 'advertised' the event on FB and we had a great turnout!
BTW- I did post on the fundraising site 'Go Fund Me' but I didn't get a dime from it and don't they take about 10%? So you are doing a lot better than I did with that! And I hope that you raise more money soon!
There were a few organizations that helped me out a little, with gift cards for food and gasoline and that was fantastic, of course with chemo brain I can't remember any of the names but I do remember I will get back to you. Also please contact any association affiliated with your type of cancer for help. I had to knock on what felt like a million doors but I did get help. But I am back to suggesting that you find a social worker or cancer navigator, just ask at the hospital and they should put you in touch with someone. I know that some are better than others, but honestly I would have been completely lost without mine.
Wishing you lots of luck, love, and blessings! xoxoxo

Thanks so much! I am still trying with the government assistance, I've put too much effort in to give up on it now. But I will contact the hospital and ask about a social worker. Thanks!

If you get a good one it is amazing what they can do, because my social worker helped me tremendously, BTW- they are also called cancer navigators now as well.
But I just remembered "Cancer Card eXchange" and I got help with gift cards from them for food, some gasoline, necessities like that.
      Good luck! xoxoxo
