    Shampoo use

When my hair went on vacation from chemo I still used shampoo on my head because it cut the body oil better than anything else. Today as I was shampooing my hair I wondereed "Would using volumizing shampoo while you are bald give you a big head?" :)

LOL I love it! I sometimes use shampoo just because the smell reminds me of my long lost hair!

I'd love to have a reason to buy shampoo again....I asked my Oncologist if after I was done with chemo if my hair would grow back on my head (I was bald before chemo) he assured me that if it did, he was going to get a couple of rounds of chemo with me.

SpunkyS, I love it!!! Could you imagine? There is one thing to consider and I found this out with one of my patients who has ovarian and breast cancer. She had a hysterectomy and yet she was still getting a period for almost a year. Through some investigating, I found that the shampoo she uses is made with placentas. A common practice, and mostly seen in conditioners and shampoos that state they will make your hair silky, smooth, or shiny. The problem is that these products contain estrogen and if your cancer is hormone driven, this could be an issue. This is what caused her periods and when she switched hair products, it stopped. Always keep this in mind when buying these personal products, and good luck with that volumizer!!!

LOL :D Too funny! I still use my shampoo too. The funny thing is that every time I shower I forget that I have no hair and I end up using the same amount of shampoo that I used prior to losing all my hair. I had hair down to my waist before.....so that's a lot of shampoo! LOL Guess my head is extra extra extra clean. :D

Spunky.... what a great name you've chosen for use here. I know I've blaiming my "Full Body" shampoo for my weight gain.... You know it runs down the body as you rinse. I drive I94 from the Twin Cities to Milwaukee and Gurnee quite often as my oldest and youngest sons live there.... I'll scream Hi Spuniky as I pass the sign/exit to your home. You'll know its me cause I'll be smiling.

LOL - love the question. Love the sense of humor. I was wondering if using detangling shampoo would cure my chemo brain.
