Sick, CBC normal, waiting on bone marrow results

I've been sick with 15 fevers since May 2014. I've had every test done, and last week my dr ordered another set of test. CBC came back that I was anemic, and she requested I have bone marrow biopsy done. I had it done yesterday and I found it odd that they are looking for leukemia. Here is my question, wouldn't the CBC show something.
I've also had muga scan (negative), CT SCANS (NEGATIVE), and everything is coming back clear.

I am speculating based on my own experience, but if you are anemic and have had chronic fevers, with no other real symptoms it could be a chronic leukemia, which they are trying to diagnose early before it goes into an acute blast crisis

CBC is your basic blood counts. Low white counts may indicate leukemia...but it is the blast (immature white cells) that is the real indicator of leukemia. In my case it was AML. The bone marrow biopsy would show leukemia and it's related cells directly in the bone marrow...where all the blood cells are actually formed.

My mother went to the ER because she felt weak. They did standard blood work and were able to tell her she had leukemia (chronic myeloid leukemia). She eventually had the bone marrow biopsy to determine what kind of leukemia it was, so they could better treat it. She was lucky in that she took chemo pills for 10 years and kept everything in check.
