• Side effects of Avastin &/or Doxil.

Side effects of Avastin &/or Doxil.

I am not looking for a scientific study; just looking for some people who used these together or separately to let me know the side effects they had. I am beginning these & worry about the side effects. I have the info from the mfgs, but they have to list even the obscure side effects (1 out of 10 000 people had this). If you or someone you know used these drugs, plmk what side effects you had. Thanks

Laureen, nI have had Avastin; however, Avastin is always given with other drugs so it is impossible to determine if the side effects are from the Avastin or from the other drugs. It is also worth noting that each person reacts differently to each drug thus just because someone had a set of side effects dose not mean you will have the same ones. Listing io side efects can be scary but it gives you some idea of what to be prepared for. Good Luck and let us know how it goes there are people here that have had all iofthe side effects and can help with how to cope with what ever you get.

Laureen, I am an oncology/end of life nurse who specializes in gyne cancers and you are asking about a chemotherapy and a biotherapy. Doxil comes in 2 forms ; there is Doxil and Doxurubicin Liposomal so it is unsure which one you are referring to. To find your answers, might I suggest you go to the website chemotherapyadvisor.com. This site is free to join and here side effects are listed for each drug, and also you can find regimens listed for each type of cancer and suggested doses. You can also print out patient handouts. This site is constantly updated to publish any newly approved drug or regimens. It is a valuable site. Best of luck to you, Carm.

Hi Laureen; I finished a round of 4 months of Doxil; and there were little to no side effects; I was thrilled. My hair did not fall out again, minimal to no nausea; just tired as usual and low blood counts but by far the best regimen I've had in 3 years. Gods Blessings to you.

I'm not sure what caused what... Sorry, but once through it... I thank God I'm Cancer free and don't want to blame any one drug for a problem, as they all worked together to get me Cancer Free.

I have been taking avastin in combination with several other meds since May. The one side effect that we know was caused by avastin was high BP especially the low number. We are. controlling this with several different types of BP meds
