Saline nasal sprays or use a neti pot as often as you can. I also use pseudoephedrine (Sudafed original), which you have to get at the pharmacy, but is otc. The stuff on the shelves is not as effective. Also, something to breathe with eucalyptus in it will help both sinuses and headache. (Ponaris is a nasal emollient, available at the pharmacy without prescription. Rather than use the dropper, I use Q-tips, dip into the solution, and wipe the inside of my nose - it moistens, and has the eucalyptus. Do that after your saline rinses.)

Check with your doctor. Personally I would stay away from the Neti Pot. I used one for a while some years back, but later read that it a good way to introduce bacteria into your system (since the water or solution may not be sterile). Since your immune system is compromised I would think a Neti Pot would be risky.

I use the sterile saline mist frequently. Part of the side affects of treatment is the low immunity so I think carefully about what I use. Saying that, be careful to not overuse the cold medications since they can over dry you and result in similar symptoms. Take care, Tracy

I have problems with stuffed up nose and headaches. My doctor gave me a prescription for Flonase which helps a lot. I also like Menthol Breathe Right nasal strips when I am at home and sleeping and Advil Congestion Relief.

I too was very susceptible to sinus infections while having Chemo treatments. Best thing I ever found then or now is the sinus rinse. It's basically just a salt water solution that you rinse thru your sinus cavities. It is a little tricky to get the technique...but works. You can try the "Nettie pots" or just the spray saline solutions. Relief is instantaneous ... and seems to kill the germs w/o adding more meds to your system. Gotta warn ya it's kinda messy and can be gross....but works! leslie
