Small bowl obstruction after 6 years free

Following 6 sb obstructions and a 7th requiring a small bowel resection during which a carcinoid tumor and lymph nodes were removed and 6 years without obstructions, I have been treated once again for a sb obstruction. No surgery necessary after two days of NG tube and bowel rest. My surgeon said there is no sign of cancer BUT I am wondering if an X-ray can actually confirm that. No other scan or tests done except normal blood work. Should I get a scan done?

      A PET-CT will confirm.

I hope the best for you, as Carm says usually a Pet scan is done to find suspected cancer anywhere in the body. Best to you, let us know what's happening.

I'd be asking for a scan for sure.
