    Small cell lung cancer

I would love to hear from anyone out there with small cell lung cancer. It would just help to know others on the same journey.

Hi Stew, I don't have small cell lung cancer, but I have been living with nonsmall lung cancer (stage IV) for nearly 6 years.

I have a good friend who had extensive small cell lung cancer. She finished treatment just about the time I started mine. She's doing GREAT!

      Hi Stew
I have stage IV non small cell lung cancer that has spread to the brain. I started on keytruda a year ago. The small tumors have stayed the same but the larger one has continued to grow a little each 3 months on my cat scan. Due for a cat scan August 30th at which time. My oncologist and I will discuss a new plan of attack.

Good luck, @Shirleyg. I am sorry that the larger tumor is not cooperating. I hope the Aug 30 scan will show that it has now decided to do so.

I just started therapy this week for small cell - radiation 2x/day for 3 weeks and chemo 3 days/week every 2.5 weeks. So far so good- no nausea just a little more tired than usual. Trying to keep extra hydrated too.

Hi, Stew, I was dx'd with small cell lung cancer (adenocarcinoma) at the end of last year (Dec 2017). Stage 4, metasticized to the bones in my lower back, right hip and right tibia. After my first cycle of treatment (carboplatin and keytruda) my rescan showed that the cancer had progressed and also spread to lymph glands and the liver. My second cycle of chemo (carboplatin and Abraxane) is finishing today, and I'll be scanned again in mid Oct. Will see then what's been going on inside. For the most part I feel pretty good, but am not working, and don't think I could be b/c I'm often too tired and sometimes feel too bad to get out of bed and it is not consistent so I can't plan ahead very well. You are ahead of me in your journey and I am following you with interest. Your granddaughter must bring you much joy, she is adorable. One thing that has become very clear to me so far is how very important our loved ones are and that our relationships with those we love are what matters most in this life. All the best to you and yours, Laura
