Stage 4 metastatic non small cell lung cancer

Have there been any new results with Opdiva? I was taken off chemo because it killed my immune system, ended up in the hospital with pneumonia for a month. Tried Keytruda for 3 months, gave me ulcerative colitis. Have to take antibiotics for 3 more months before they will start treatments again. Don’t know what I will be on next, haven’t had any treatments since April 2019, the Keytruda made my tumor shrink. I’m getting anxious when I will be able to start treatments again.

One of our members @LiveWithCancer has been on opdivo for quite a while with very few side effects. She will see this soon and let you know what she has had.

I have Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer. I was on chemo for 10 months. Hated the side effects, always sick. My doctor took me off the chemo after 10 months because the tumors were not responding to the drugs. I then was put on Opdivo in May of 2017 and have been on it since. I've had no side effects for the first two years. However, for the past few months, I have this annoying cough. Yet, the Opdivo is working. At my initial diagnosis, I was given 3 months to live. Well...its been 3 plus years and I'm doing ok. I highly recommend Opdivo. It's been a life saver for me.

Like Nana52, Opdivo saved my life, too. I was on it from July 2013 until May 2019. I started developing a rash that seemed to be Opdivo-related. My doctor and I agreed to stop treatments for awhile. The rash cleared up.

Other than the rash, i had a bit of fatigue and my thyroid quit working right. Mostly, the biggest impact to my life was giving up the time for treatment every 2 weeks (and then once a month).
