My friend was given 6 months or less. He went to another doctor whose attitude was to beat it. He died 2 1/2 years later. Your sister needs a positive attitude. That only comes from those around you being positive. My doctor has given me 5 years or better, making sure I understand she is not God and does not have a crystal ball.
Is she not responding well to treatment? Have they tried different chemos? I am Stage 4. How long has she had this and what has she already gone through.

A positive attitude gives the strength to fight -- and I have heard of people being given months to live who are still here years later. Prayer is very powerful and God is good -- so there is always hope.

Hi Jivan. It's not over for your sister in law, you, me, or any body else until God says its over. Trust and believe in God. I suggest you tell your sister in law to LIVE like there's no tomorrow. I believe that you are on the right track with Ayurvedic. Try alkaline water, freeze dried strawberries, and any other unothordoxed and traditional methods.

Hello Jivan, God is the ultimate life decider. We can only pray and ask Him for comfort and strength to endure. Staying positive is the next best thing. As a family continue to encourage her and help her to keep her spirits lifted.

I strongly recommend the book Anti-Cancer by David Servan-Schreiber. He makes many suggestions on diet and lifestyle. He was a medical doctor with brain cancer that survived predictions by more then 20 years.

Try to get a second opinion. Doctors have been proven wrong before. I was given 6 months by a surgeon. An oncologist came into my hospital room and said that maybe he can save my life. Just reached 5 years.

Can she get into a study? I have stage 4 - they say they have no idea. Bless her and may God keep her strong.

I know many who have improved their survival rate (and even beaten cancer) by the simple use of meditation. It helps to quiet the mind and still the nervous system, it can be a very healing thing to do. I have some information about it on my website if you would like the address. Sending hugs to both of you.

There are clinical trials out there, you can search on www.clinicaltrials.gov
A very good, currently experimental drug, is tdm-1 (super Herceptin), breast cancer patients with her2 are experiencing amazing results. If your friend is her2, try hard to get her in one of the tdm-1 studies.

More information is really needed in order to help you out with good information. Was that cancer discovered July, 2011? Did they take care of it right away instead of waiting around in case she didn't have insurance. Was the cancer infiltrating or localized? So many unanswered questions to help her out. If we can get answers to those questions, some of us might have some answers. But DEFINITELY get a second opinion and if at all possible go to the Cancer Centers of America. If a person with pancreatic cancer can go there and get cured, so can your friend.
