    Support Groups

Does anyone know of an in-person cancer support group in or around Hillsborough County, Florida?

You can check in the resources tab at the top of the page. It is zip code generated, so put in the zip code for the area you want to find resources for. It will change with the zip. Click on the American Cancer Society link and talk to them, if one is not listed. They keep a good database of things like that.
someone might come on and answer from that area. But for now, check the resources tab.

      Hope you find something close!

      Hi again jearlesred!

It's Aliza the Librarian. I don't know whether any Cancer org lists their support groups by county, but I bet if you call The American Cancer Society at[phone number redacted], they can direct you. You might also try phoning CancerCare and see about your treating hospital as well. If you come up dry after that, please feel free to email me offsite (you can do that) and I'll be glad to research it for you.

I'll even bet money that The Mayo Clinic (Fla) might keep a listing of Cancer support groups in the state.

      Best of luck,

Ask your oncologist's office. They usually have a list of places.

I am in So Fla and there is a Gilda's Club here. Perhaps there is one up by you? Other than that, check with your oncologist/hospital of treatment as such things are or ought to be part of the program and someone on staff should have a list of contacts.

Back when I was tort..er, treated :-) the hospital had meetings every month with guest speakers who knew about other resources.

      Feel better soon.
