Support/Play groups for a child with Leukemia

I'm new to the site, so I apologize if I am posting incorrectly. My 5-year old niece was diagnosed with ALL two months ago, and was supposed to start kindergarten, but now cannot. She is currently in the consolidation phase of the treatment, and we think it would be great for her to be able to socialize with other children her age, if possible. Does anyone know of any playgroups for children who are going through her same/similar situation in the Los Angeles or Orange County area? I have tried locating groups specific to small children on the internet, but have been unsuccessful so far. Thank you for any suggestions.

The best source would be the cancer center where your niece is being treated. Usually the associations will provide fliers or other info. I don't know of many but one such group is Sunshione Kids. They exist in several cities and are dedicated to children with cancer. Good l;uck and remember to ask the doctors if your niece is well enough to be with other children (low counts, etc.). Good luck and God be with your famil;y.
