It's hard to deal with this year. I'm either mad at the World or depressed followed by spells of laughter and delight! You never know what you will get from me these days!

I cut way back this year on shopping for gifts. I’m making sweet treats for everyone and giving a little $ to grandkids, not hosting the big gathering, Got a tabletop Christmas tree with fiber optic lights, not wrapping lots of gifts and not trying to run all over to visit family. They can come by to visit whenever they want. I’ve finally learned how to de-stress and simplify without feeling guilty about it anymore! Last year taught me some good lessons when I realized it was just too much! Everyone was ok with the new plan and I’ll be able to enjoy things this year! You have to take care of you now, it’s really ok!

@Teachertina, that's the way Donna and I try to do things anymore. We set our schedule and stick to it. As for dinners, I used to cook for all of the Holidays and we would have a house full of people, but this year we stepped back from that. I know that everyone is busy these days and they have lots of places to go to visit other family, but we just stopped worrying about it. Everyone knows where we are, if they want to come see us the door is always open.
