I will be starting Tamoxifen soon and my Dr suggested I control estrogen in my diet as much as possible. I have been doing a lot of online research and it's been pretty enlightening. Does anyone have a favorite resource they could share on the topic?

Actually, let me suggest that you check out a website called Skin Deep. Estrogen is not only in the foods we eat but also in personal care products as well. If you enter your shampoo or makeup into the search bar on this site, pics of the product will appear. Click on the pic of the product you use and it will let you know the hazards of that product, like whether it is carcinogenic or even estrogenic. Best of luck to you, Carm RN.

Thanks for carms answer.I have been on Tamoxifen for 2 years, my md never mentioned dietary or other sources of estrogen. Another question for our next visit. Also, for me, the side effects have diminished over time. Hope the same for you CAH

Thanks for the question CAH. I'll be on Tamoxifen eventually and have already started eliminating plant based estrogen from my diet. So far I've found out that soy products contain plant based estrogen. I'd welcome any other food product answers and love the suggestion of looking at personal care products vfrom carm.
