    Testing for myeloma

Hi! For years now my doctor has been checking my serum light chain. I don’t completely understand it, but it has been a little off. Some of my labs have been off now and then due to the immunotherapy so we have been watching and I have not been too concerned. Well tonight I saw my labs on my chart and my lambda gamma is high and the serum free light chain is low. That is a new result. Of course google says it’s a sign the myeloma is active. I have not been diagnosed with myeloma but it is something they have been watching. Just curious if any of this mean anything to anyone with more knowledge about serum light chain than I do. Just a little confused. I plan to call my doctor in the morning and trying not to over think in the meantime. Thanks!

So if he isn't recommending anything be done before September he must not be too concerned about it...?

@Bug I am thinking that. He had already ordered a 24 hr urine bases on last months results so I am going to do that this week. Hopefully that will come out okay and I can breathe easier until September.

Sandi, I would say that from what I have seen doctors do in these cases that this is pretty good news for the time being. Let's hope it stays that way!
