Thank you, Greg. An Inspiration, A Fighter, A Survivor

I haven't been active recently on What Next, but am an old-timer. So I've known Greg for many years; read his insightful & encouraging posts, & followed his amazing, inspiring story of survivorship. I am heart-broken that cancer has taken him from us, and more importantly his family, friends & loved ones. We have learned so much from him. How to be tenacious, how to stare down one of the ugliest of diseases multiple times, never losing hope or faith.

I've been a cancer coach for 8 years & always say that if I can save just one life by sharing my story & helping to make this nightmare a little easier for someone, then that was, perhaps, why I had to go thru what I did. Just think about how many lives Greg has saved, how many spirits he has lifted & how many people he has comforted, supported and inspired. Rest in peace, Greg. And thank you for the tremendous support you have provided so many of us during these difficult years. WhatNexters, it's now our turn to carry on his legacy.

Yes. You gave words for me too, and I thank you. I usually have a lot to say (you all probably noticed?), but this has just left me speechless.

MarcieB - words right now just feel tired and hollow and nowhere close to the words in my heart. I'm just devasted at the moment. I will miss this kind soul - he's represented so much to me over these past 5 years. The 'essence' of Greg for me...was all things possible, a sense of humor in the darkest of it, and a bright light on my path, even in the midst of his own shadows. It'll take a while for this to settle for a lot of us...as we examine what Greg symbolized for individually for so many of us. What a remarkable man!

Ashera, you are so right - words are not adequate. I wish we could do something...but I think the best thing we can do for him is carry on his legacy of hope and optimism whenever we can? I think he would want us to stay strong and be there for each other as he always was for us. Honestly, I have missed him since the moment I read the news. The world is diminished with his passing.

Greg offered the spirit to fight cancer. His unwavering fight to beat cancer was always noted on a regular basis. He will seriously be missed by all who knew him.
