    Thankful Thursday

Hi, everyone. We're very overdue for a Thankful Thursday question. I'm thankful for all of my wonderful friends - including my WhatNext friends - who are giving me so much support during this difficult time (for those of you who don't know my husband passed from glioblastoma in March). I'm also thankful that the WN Questions function seems to be working again. What are you thankful for today?

Hi. I am thankful that for the first time since I was diagnosed 9 years ago, hubby and I, empty nesters, are planning on celebrating with a summer of fun.

I am thankful that there has been a good bit of activity on WhatNext, lately. It almost makes it feel like the old days. It is great to keep in touch.

I am also thankful that our questions are posting! I am hoping we can get ourselves back together, I always love to discuss things with my fellow survivors. Bug, I am especially thankful to see you here. It takes so much energy to grieve, but I honestly believe staying connected to people is HUGE. So many of us understand because we have been where you are right now.
Here is a list of things I am most thankful for :

1 - My good doctor report a week ago
2 - Being able to shop without a mask! (always makes me cough, then people are afraid of me)
3 - The pair of cardinals who returned to nest again in my garden
4 - A good excuse for not weeding my garden - the nesting cardinals freak out!!
5 - The baby hopping toad that lives under my sliding door frame, and peeks out from time to time.

Bug, thank you for Thankful Thursday.

I too am thankful for my friends. I’m thankful I’m physically okay and so are most of my loved ones. Thankful I have a rent-stabized apartment in a beautiful and very expensive neighborhood. Thankful I can stay home today and laze around.

I am thankful for all of you here at WhatNext. I am thankful that I have a job (even if my boss drives me crazy at times LOL). I am thankful that I can afford to put gas in my vehicle, at least for one more week. I am thankful I don't have small babies that make me need to worry about the shortage of formula. I worry about it for others. I am thankful for my health.

I am thankful for more time on this beautiful planet, for beating the odds. I too lost my husband 23 years ago to glioblastoma so I send you hugs.

I am so happy to see all of you here. It is a thing to be thankful for! Now, I am waiting to hear how Ashera is doing?

Ah...I 'felt' I had to finally log in!!! Thanks for the nudge Marcie B!
I am thankful that again, What Next makes me feel that we just might survive. I'm thankful that my last week's appt went well with surgeon - my incisions are closed - and reassured that swelling in R breast is probably cause I've no lymph nodes, and in time will subside.
Thankful MarcieB told me about the many post surge bras she donated to her church, and my hunt for the perfect bras for the moment is not unusual. My discard pile grows. Thankful for escaping all the horrendous weather MN has had and thankful for the huge amount of rain that came with it. And most thankful for all of my friends on What Next. You have NO idea how much you've been there for me - the way it's made me feel...it's like we've been in the same room.

Bug - didn't realize it was glioblastoma...my son Scott died of same. I continue to think of your loss - and hope as you travel this next journey through your grief - the sharpness fades. Please remember to go through it and not around it. I send love to you.
And love to all of you!

I'm so glad your appointment went well, Ashera. Here's to continued healing and wellbeing. My heart goes out to you about your son. I'll write to you separately. I'm sending love and a warm hug to you and everyone as well.

While this is 14 days late, I'm very thankful that the 70 MPH winds on Wednesday didn't do any damage. We had tornado clouds (no funnels) near us, too. After last December's 200+ mile tornado, we all are very nervous.

Petieagnor- so glad you did not have any damage from the high winds. We just officially entered hurricane season here on June 1 so we are ready for whatever comes. At least with hurricanes you get some warnings. Tornados are so random and frightening.
