~Thankful Thursday~ What are you thankful for today?

I will start this one off today by saying I am thankful that my latest scare was nothing serious, and bordering on funny. Better than the alternative that I was presented with when tests were being run. How about you? What can you find to be thankful for today?

It's Bring your Kid to Work day and I didn't bring any kids. Last year I brought 2 and one was a total brat. So, today, I'm thankful just to be at work, without kids.

Today I'm thankful for closure and it feels so good! For the peeps who know my story, I spoke with him last week and it was the best conversation we've had in quite sometime. Obviously, I told him I can't speak with him again BUT I said what I needed to say! The best part...It was without conflict.

I'm thankful for a wonderful family. My daughter and son-in-law are buying a house tomorrow and Saturday is the move-in day. I hope they are very happy in their new home.
And I'm thankful that I can be there for them as they start having a family. My daughter is due in August and this grandma-to-be is knitting up a pink storm!

I am thankful the PET/CT scan I had Monday came back clear. I am glad I tolerated clinical trial procedure #5. I'm ecstatic my kidney function is showing improvement.

I am thankful that Sunday I will celebrate my fifth birthday that I wasn't supposed to have. I remember sitting in the waiting room the day I began treatment (also my birthday) In the magazine I reading there was an ad by that said "We Sponsor Birthdays". I remember thinking "Yeah right" I had just come from meeting with the radiation oncologist. He had asked the usual questions that they need to pull up the information on the computer; last name and date of birth. When I said my date of birth, He said "today is your birthday, happy birthday" At that point my daughter began to tear up. After the Dr. outlined the treatment, my daughter was sobbing. So while I was reading the article, my daughter was sitting beside me sobbing.
I am thankful for these five birthdays So I thank the American Cancer Society, the LIVESTRONG Foundation, the Esophageal Education Society. and many others that fund research. I also thank all my Dr.s , PAs and nurses.
Most of all I thank God and the many prayer warriors at my Church who kept a prayer vigil during my nine hour surgery.

I'm thankful for the critters around my home, now that it's springtime. Lots of squirrels, a pair of bluebirds, red-headed woodpeckers and chipmunks scampering out of my way.
      The ticks, not so much......

I am thankful that I got my surgery & am home now. It turned out to be much more than expected & they made 11 incisions, but hopefully it will take care of my feeling so bad -- as soon as I feel better FROM this surgery! Guess no bikinis for me LOL!

My parents came in from Colorado for vacation. Am thankful they made it safely. Also thankful at their age (76 and 77) they are still able to drive from Colorado to Indiana.

I am thankful for the anole (lizard) in my mailbox. He did an excellent job guarding my mail against any intruders. :-)

@BoiseB, I had a wonderful close encounter with a female moose back in 1990 in New Hampshire's White Mountains. She actually got a lot closer than this shot:

@Ejourneys, my first encounter with a Moose was at the age of five. We were coming down from the ranger station to get our last batch of supplies so it was in the fall. This one was a really big bull in rut. This was in '47 and we still had our prewar car. The moose decided to charge us and gave us quite a chase. Needless to say, I had no desire to entertain even this sweet young cow, So my dutiful son braved the downtown traffic, and took me shopping for more plants for the garden.
