I live in MI and we're having great springtime weather, which is something we haven't had for a couple of years. Last year I wore my winter coat til June! So, I'm enjoying the sunshine on my face when I can get out and enjoy it.

I am thankful -- and have a thank-you card prepared -- for the doctor who had pulled the alarm on my screening mammogram last year. Due to the buyout of my hospital and subsequent insurance changes, I need to switch diagnostic imaging centers. I was able to get some of my old mammo records and images from the center I used and learned that for at least five years I had a clearly visible tumor in my breast that had repeatedly been marked as "benign" -- I kept getting "mammogram normal" notices so I hadn't had a clue. (Yes, I am now looking into this.) The doctor who reviewed my 2014 mammo (and who had also performed my biopsy) had flagged the image as a "questionable very mild increase" from 2009 to 2014. Only then was follow-up work done. I've been telling people that a mammogram saved my life, but in truth it was this particular doctor who has saved my life, because she was the one who spoke up. Despite clear evidence that something was happening, no one else had.

I am thankful that I am finally seeing some progress in my physical therapy. This week I was able to walk unaided for 358 ft. before falling (I didn't hit the ground because they had a belt on me and caught me) I will be discussing surgery, blockers, yada, yada, yada with the neurosurgeon next month.

I am grateful to have gotten a liter of iv fluid and some iv antinausea meds at my oncology office yesterday. It helped me feel much better. I was able to eat a small breakfast this am that tasted very good. So far I have not had vomiting today. I am still pretty worn out from not being able to eat well for the last few weeks, but this is the best I have felt in a few weeks!
