    thinking about my first visit

I was sitting here thinking about my first visit at the west clinic. when my medical doctor told me I would be going to the west clinic. I told him I didn't want to go there. he asked me why and I told him that i have never heard anything good about the west clinic. So I went to the west clinic with my daughter, I asked a lot of questions and wrote down everything the oncologist said.that was on 07/03/12. I returned on 07/17/12 for my first set of lab work and I asked him if I could go to my family reunion and than have my treatment that next Tuesday. he said yes. I got my first chest xray. when I finished and was waitng for my appointment scheduling. I was talking to clerk name Shawn, and I was crying. this came over to talk to me(being nosey)lol. and asked what was wrong, Shawn asked him to talk to me. of course I was looking him all up side his head.and he asked me if I had anyone to be with me while went through treatment. I told him no .he said i'll be with you. he walked me to my

car and we exchanged phone numbers. He said you can call me at anytime. I am a early bird ,so I called him at five am while drinking my coffee, couldn't sleep. he met me at the church where I was getting on a chartered bus for Chicago Illinois. He carried my luggage to the bus. He met me on the return from my trip. We have been a couple ever since. ..Who would have imagined? never know who you will meet or how you will meet.

That is so nice to hear.
At one of my appointments I was writing a check for my copay and asked if they could hold it until Friday (payday). A lady standing next to me offered to pay it for me. All these years later it still brings tears to my eyes when I think about her kindness.

There is good people in this world. I like to hear stories like this.

I remember the first time we went to a restaurant after chemo had ended. We had a nice dinner, and when we finished, someone had paid our bill. I guess the head scarf was a give away. I will never forget that moment.

      BarbarainBham ,
guess what I still call him at that time of the morning as I am heading off to work.(smile). even after all this when we started see each and he wanted to see me daily I told him he had not asked me to be his girlfriend ,he smiled asked if he could have permission to come courting me. he open doors for me, carry in my groceries, cooks sometime and when he go grocery shopping for his house he will ask me of I need anything. he picks up fresh fruit for me..
he is a keeper even though we probably will not get married social security will cut him off due to my income. he has his house and his mom's house. I can't foot all the bills. my house is almost paid for, he refinanced his for a lower interest rate.

CASSIEME1, regular Social Security isn't based on family income. It's based on what you paid in while you worked.

Re mortgages---Anybody who is over 62 and has paid for at least half of the appraised value of their home can apply for an FHA-insured reverse mortgage. They don't check credit because it's for seniors to have extra money, and if your equity qualifies, you can stop paying a payment and your equity pays the payment (on paper). It stays in your name, and when the equity runs out, you still get to stay there until you die. Your heirs have a year to refinance in their name or sell it.

I got one and it's helped so much. Best wishes.

Permanent SS Disability isn't based on income either, so maybe y'all could work something out!

If he's on SSI, I know nothing about that, but it may be based on income.
