    Tough week

This has been a tough week. First, I was taken off of Opdivo - given a break - due to the side effects that have been accumulating all of a sudden (or I finally thought to mention them at one time...)

Then, a friend who has been valiantly fighting her lung cancer passed away. She wrote her own facebook post announcing she had died and had her daughter post it after she drew her last breath. It's been sad - she has been described by many as a firecracker. She LIVED life.

Today, I got word that the girl I went to Israel with got really bad scan results. She's been stable without treatment for two years and had just gone to scans every 6 months. Apparently, when her tumors started growing, they exploded in growth. Now, it appears they have grown into her heart and liver and there are new ones in her lungs too. And, some are pretty big. Her tumors have been slow growers until now.

Most of the time, I rock along with a positive outlook, but this week has been hard emotionally.

It is always so sad when we have a bunch of things pile up on us. As I said, you have had a very tough time for a while now. I wonder if it is possible for a Mother to ever get over losing a child? I don't really think so, though as I mentioned, with time - lots of time - the pain is still there, but it isn't sticking you in the side twisting like a knife.

This weekend was Mother's Day, and we buried my Mom, too early if you ask me, but it was 31 years ago on May 7th - it was on Mother's Day in 1988. Hence, Mother's day is always a bummer...but there is no where to go , I can't escape the facts... sadly most of us face this reality - or some other. For a couple of old broads fighting Cancer, we still have a laugh or two to share. Like I told you... you must never feel too down, I am always just a little bit away, make time to hug you, lend a shoulder to cry on, insult the s_ _ t out of you, and hopefully we will laugh again soon - loudly (if that shoe fits...) together again.

You are strong LWC, and while there are many things weighing on your shoulders right now, I hope and pray they will become lighter in the weeks to come. I can't have you so sad, have you talking about some things which we have to hope never to experience in our lives... Life is too precious. Just think of the battle we have waged just fighting to stay alive. hugs, coco1101

I'm so sorry you are facing all this at once. I'm sorry about your the friend you lost and that another one has had a turn for the worse. Yes, you are strong, but even the strongest needs to have that moment when you scream into the night. Many hugs. And purrs from my kitty, Ruskin 'cause purrs help everything...

Sigh. When it rains it pours. I'm so sorry to hear this. It's a lot for one person to bear. Thinking of you and saying prayers and sending a warm hug.
