    Underarm pain

I had a mastectomy and reconstruction five years ago. Lately, I've been experiencing some discomfort in the arm pit of the side on which I had my surgery. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts about what may be causing this? Thanks and Happy Holidays to you all!

Could be anything. Try doing some self massage first - use your first two fingers and rotate in the area 5 times. I do agree with Jouska, if it persists for more than a couple weeks - make an appointment either with your local doc or your oncologist.

I had underarm pain, saw my oncologist who thought it was lymphodema. I found a PT expert in lymphodema massage and was fine after a few sessions. Like Jouska and mofields said check with your MD first. Good luck.

I have had severe underarm pain for over 2 years. Did therapy with a lymphodema specialist, did other therapy for over 2 years. Pain got so bad, they actually did another surgery but were unable to find anything. I am getting nerve blocks regularly. Wish pain would go away. Hugs, and Merry Christmas to you.
