Besides just getting over a cold and having to get all the Christmas stuff done, I'm doing fine. Had a good mammogram in October and so far, I'm doing great.

I'm just taking it one day at a time. Right now I'm having a lot of knee pain but other then that, I've just tried to stay positive. It's difficult trying to take care of my Mom and also trying to stay on top of my health issues but I'm strong and know as long as I have my feet planted firmly on the ground, I can handle anything.

On the 10th, I reached my 5 years since being diagnosed. So, that makes me feel good. Also, my bathroom remodel will be complete today, and I am so happy about that. Now, I just have to get organized with Christmas plans.

Still NEC, but not NED. Cancers are gone, but GvHD is the "new cancer." However, I am delighted to be anywhere. Clinic day in a few hours after a fasting blood draw. They are monitoring how I am doing on the new drug Ruxolitinib (Jakafi) which I am receiving off-label. It is a bone marrow cancer drug (Polycythemia Vera and Myelofibrosis) that has shown a lot of promise in controlling post-transplant GvHD issues. I must say that it is the first drug after three+ years that has provided notable relief. Being the 6th immune suppression drug I have received, one becomes a bit jaded and does not expect much. So, aside from taking a couple of daily naps, life is good.

So ... it shows there are 9 responses, but there are only 8. Pauline responds that she's sorry for your experiences ... and there are none here. Is it just me not seeing it or did you delete your post, Greg? Praying all is well, despite obstacles.

Tomorrow is my oncologist appointment. We go over tests that were run Monday. This is my third visit since treatment ended. Hoping tomorrow confirms I am still "Dancing with NED".

So far, so good. Radiation treatments start today. Got my tattoos last week. (Rectal stage IV with metastases to the liver, which is bad, but nowhere else, which is good) Will continue to take chemo pills for the liver while that is going on. I've been told I'm going to feel terrible, but nothing so far has been as bad as they told me it would be, so I'm hoping that trend continues. Apparently you only lose your hair in the area where they aim the beams, so ...there will be no pictures of that on Facebook, haha.

Live , it's that pesky bug that shows up when I post more than twice on a long thread. The system will not show my post.

I am doing ok! I am on a low dose steroid to keep inflammation down in my right lung and the bonus is that it is giving me some extra energy for Christmas. I have been making beaded necklaces and other jewelry for my family for the first time in a couple of years thanks to the steroid overdrive.
I don't have any wrapping done, or all of the presents bought, but I feel like I am having a good time this year.

Hi Greg! Everything is going well. I actually have the first Christmas season with no doctors appointments in 4 years. My next appointment isn’t until February. So I am enjoying the time and taking it day by day.

I'm doing OK. Side effects of GemZar got bad so Dr. gave me some time off of Chemo. Have a CT scan on the 4th. See Dr. on 9th to discuss results & options. Getting my strength back. Sitting on pins & needles all the while trying to be positive.
