    Weight gain with Letrazole

Does anyone have any suggestions re: losing weight while taking letrazole? I have gained 20 lbs since I started it, and have maintained a relatively healthy diet. I have tried "diets" (weight watchers, low carb) but nothing has worked. Thanks!

Good Luck! I have been on AI's and have gained weight also. My routine has not changed, I have always been vegetarian and exercised daily. I have changed up my exercise routine to try to loose weight, but no luck so far. My gain is exclusive to the mid section, so I am trying to target that area. I have also had 4 surgeries in 15 months , so I tend to blame myself for perhaps not pushing myself hard enough.

I also gained weight on Letrazole - about twenty pounds. I finally lost the weight when I went off the medication after five years. It didn't happened all at once but came off slowly. I do Weight Watchers and have found it the best for me. Good luck!

Yikes! This I don't need! The joint pain, sleepiness, and scatter brain is bad enough! Does this happen on other inhibitors as well? I just started anastrozole a month ago and I'm already up 20lb from 6 months of inactivity and trying to get that off! Juicing works for me but it's slower going than before BC.

I was on arimidex and was gaining 3 to 4 lbs a month. Finally got gaining to stop at 30 lbs and ever so slowly taking it off (about 1.5 Lb. a month). I have never had a weight issue even when I went thru menopause the first time. I am watching EVERYTHING I eat, using Fitbit to promote more activity. I switched to exemetrane a month ago but weight still an issue. Changed meds due to severe muscle leg/ feet issues that are still around. Giving it a bit longer to see if I can tolerate this one.

I've re-discovered nuts! Did you know that peanuts (legumes) are a vegetable? It is not very expensive to throw together a trail-mix. Sometimes I add M and Ms!

A healthy diet/lifestyle is the MOST important thing, of course. With that said, I have found something that worked for me after I put on 20 pounds following my cancer diagnosis. The program I used was formerly called Medifast now it is called OptaVia. I do not use anything that contains soy protein isolate because of its implications in breast-cancer. However, they have plenty of whey protein and pea protein based options. Best wishes, Judy in Ky
