    Weird taste in mouth?

I have had the worst plastic-y taste in my mouth for the last few days. Is that normal? I mean, I've brushed my teeth, eaten, etc etc and it still won't go away.

I had this happen from both times I was treated for Hodgkins with chemo, and from radiation when it gave me sores in my mouth. It may stay with you until a few weeks after your done with treatment. Thats what mine did anyway. Some things tasted bad, others were Ok, but had a weird taste in my mouth all the time. I can still get flashbacks when I smell Heperin, that I always taste and smell.

In addition to candy, etc., above, I have found that ice pops, fruit pops, lemon ice - anything cold helps. That also helps with hydration, which is key. Sometimes I crave one thing for a week and the next week can't look at it. It is difficult. Everyone tells you to eat and things taste horrible. Try different ensure type products - CVS has a 350 calorie drink in vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. It goes down pretty quickly when it is served over ice.
