I wouldn't want to have all of them removed. They are important to our auto-immune systems and removing them unnecessarily also increasing the risk of lymphedema significantly. Removing them all does not guarantee removal of all cancer cells. Cancer metastasis occurs through the transport of cancer cells through the lymphatic or vascular systems.

Is your Dr suggesting you do this or are you thinking about it. I had two removed initially as a "check" and cancer was found in one of those (I'm stage III). Then we went in and took all the rest which were clear. Nancy's post is correct, but I'm glad we took all because it answered some questions. I have also had few issues when others have had problems and there is no way to know where you will fall on that scale. Talk to your onc. A lot depends on your stage, etc. As Nancy said, you are altering your body's functions so this is serious. But knowledge is golden.
