We normally have 40 or 50 people over on the 4th. We started doing this on every holiday after I finished treatments in 2009 just before memorial day. I told Donna to tell everybody we knew and all the relatives to come, just follow the smoke, because I'll be smoking lots of meat. This year we have missed a few holidays with me being a little occupied. So, with that, and the pain I'm having in my throat, we won't be having anything too much. Mashed potatoes and gravy for me probably.

Grilled flatiron steak, twice-baked potato, and some green beans. Peach cobbler for dessert.

Not many people coming over this year, just a brother and wife so probably just simple burgers and chicken

Yummmm, @JaneA. I LOVE twice-baked potatoes! I think I'm going to grill ribs and have baked potatoes. Better go pull the ribs out of the freezer.

I was going to order delivery from my favorite local restaurant which is an English Pub that has Fish & Chips to die for but when I went to order they were closed for the Holiday. Then it dawned on me that Authentic British Fish & Chips for the Fourth of July would hardly be appropriate so I am now ordering a Salmon Dinner from Shari's Jane, that peach cobbler sounds delicious

I grilled us a filet, some green peppers, squash, and onions, zucchini. I was able to eat most everything. So it was a pretty good dinner.

@BoiseB, your first choice would have been ironic. I can think of lots of people in my area who were having "fried fish" today and maybe some french fries too, so I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility.
