What do you you know about wearing head coverings, hats, etc during the hot weather.

It seems to me the added heat wouldn't be good. What do you think?

They probably won't be really comfortable if you live in a hot climate. They could protect your head from the sun, though.

Good luck! I would probably wear a loose hat or something when I went outside and go without anything when in the house. Comfort rules!

Added heat, who knows? Added ionizing radiation from the sun - definitely not good. A sun hat with mesh sides for some ventilation might be just the thing. Due to constantly recurring pre-cancerous growths on my scalp, If the sun is up, I must always wear a hat of some type. As the blue-eyed crooner Frank Sinatra sang, "That's Life..."

Definitely wear a hat when outside to protect your scalp and face from the sun. I find a light weight, wide brimmed straw hat does the trick quite comfortably.

Sweetie bought me a couple of "big floppy hats" to wear when I'm working outside. They are lightweight and have hundreds of small holes allowing air flow.

My ENT Oncologist told me to stay out of the sun.

It may be hot but I'd stick to a hat or some other head covering. One of my sisters had basal cell cancer about an inch back from her hairline at her forehead. She had to have MOHS surgery to remove it. Her dermatologist told her to always cover her head when she is going to be in the sun for any length of time. She tossed out her visors and now only wears hats. After seeing her go through that I tossed my visors as well and wear hats.

A straw hat with a high crown should serve to protect you from the sun as well as allow ventilation to keep you cool, yay!
