    What does metastatic mean?

      It means the cancer has spread beyond the primary site.

      SueRae1 is correct. Metastatic cancer means that the cancer involves more than one site. This definition varies slightly depending on the type of cancer, but generally speaking for solid tumors such as yours, if your cancer has spread to a lymphnode or another organ, it is considered to be metastatic disease.

      It means that cancer has spread from the primary site (place where it started) to other places in the body.
