Probably different with most people and different at different times. I went through chocolate pudding. Woke up from a surgery, the guy in the next bed was eating chocolate pudding, I wanted it. Mashed potatos and gravy, easy to eat. And the last time, chocolate milk, and regular milk. I was drinking 2 gallons a week, loved milk with hersheys chocolate in it.

My preferred foods changed during my journey. For a while, I couldn't get enough potato chips. At other times, it was rice pudding. I did learn to buy small quantities of the foods I craved because one day you could love it and the next day hate it. I did just go for whatever I wanted. Usually just a little bit, met the craving. There were days when I didn't eat much so it all balanced out. I stayed within 5 pounds my entire time during treatment.

My cravings changed throughout treatment too. I craved comfort food often, like ice cream and mac 'n cheese. One day I would crave a certain food and then a couple days later, the thought of it made me nauseous. I did find that I liked a good, hardy meal the evening of or day after chemo. I think that was the steriods - made me ravenous, but then I'd be nauseous for several days following.

I went through phases during my chemo which just ended a bit ago. Sometimes it was salad, sometimes it was pretzels, most recently it was chocolate milk.

My husband has had many cravings. As someone else wrote, I soon learned not to stock up as his preferences changed frequently. Sometimes it was due to his mouth sores or stomach issues. I ran to our local Kroger's for a decadent chocolate dessert one Saturday evening. Mashed potatoes and gravy a real favorite. Seems like comfort foods appeal to him mostly. He has not wanted salads, grilled chicken or fish, which he liked prior to chemotherapy.
He drinks Kellogg's chocolate shakes as a supplement. Butter pecan ice cream is his latest favorite.
