What has your experience been with taking Zejula?

I will be starting Zejula in a couple of days. Wondering how other people have tolerated it and how much it has helped lengthen your remission time. I am stage 3C. Thanks!

Hi - I realize your post is months old now but I don't get on this site very often so I'm just seeing it. How are you doing on the Zejula? I'm taking it in conjunction with Avastin as part of a clinical trial after first-line treatment. Have been on it for 7 months, and so far all of my numbers and scans have been great. (I'm 3c, as well.) I started at 200mg but developed severe anemia so am now at 100mg.

The two drugs have some side effects in common, so I can't really tell which is responsible for certain effects I experience like high blood pressure, fatigue, joint pain. All in all though, I'm very hopeful that this will prevent a recurrence.

I am not on Avastin but I am on Zejula. I started the Zejula the end of September. I had some severe acid reflux which resulted in a hacking cough ending in a belch and some regurgitation. I did all kinds of measures to control acid reflux like elevating the head of my bed with a 6 inch foam pad, not eating 5 hours before bed, Zantac, Tums, avoiding high fat/ spicy foods ect. We gradually decreased my dose from 300mg to 100mg. I have been on 100mg since January 1st. Happily I have felt "normal" since mid January. My creatinine did go slightly above normal and a couple of my liver function tests went up a little on the higher dosage. My platelets did drop some with higher dosage too. Now my labs are normal. I started Zejula after receiving chemo for a reoccurrence of my Ovarian Cancer. I wish you the best.

Now that you mention it, I had the acid reflux as well for a while, but with the lower dose it has disappeared. I'm so glad you are feeling better - and my best to you as well!

I spent two months on Zejula and was miserable. Out of 23 possible side effects, I had 15. It was like playing side effect Bingo. After 4 days in the hospital for anemia and dehydration, I'm no longer on it and going back into infusion chemo. I hope it works better for you.
