What is the general rule of thumb about having dental work done during treatments?

I need to have a filling done and maybe a root canal and crown. I will call my oncologist tomorrow, I thought surely there are people here that have been through this already. Anyone?

I was told not to have any dental work during my 6 months of chemo.

Sometimes they may give you an antibiotic before and afterwards to keep things away but we do have to be super careful during treatments. Talk to your oncologist and see what they say. Can this wait?
I waited for a checkup until I felt better from chemo.

I was told to go to the dentist before I start and not to go back until after I finished
