What is the "goodwill score" that is posted next to my username?

I just noticed it and haven't really paid attention to it. What is it for?

The Goodwill Score is a measure of how active you are on the site. You get points for answering questions, for asking questions, for posting pictures or media of any type on the pinboard. So keep up what you're doing, helping others simply by answering questions or asking questions. Thanks for being with us and for being supportive of others.

I think it's a fun way to see how active you are.
