What is the standard recovery time for a partial nephrectomy?

I've been trying to see how long I would have to be off work.

I can't say for sure but last fall I had my right adrenal gland, which sits right on top of the kidney, removed. I was ofdf work for three weeks afterward and ready to go back to chemo in 6 weeks. I had robotic surgery so the recovery was faster than with normal surgery. I am an engineer so I do desk work which makes a difference. Hope this helps.

Each person is different on healing time. I had an open partial nephrectomy, which took me about 6 weeks to heal enough for me to be able to be on my feet for long periods of time. It also depends on the type of job you are doing. The main thing to remember is do not push yourself too fast or too hard, if you over do you can cause a longer time to heal back up. Give yourself time to heal and be able to recover your strength.
