The standard treatment for any cancer that is in more than one place is chemo. This is because they assume that cancer is in other place too even if they can't see it and chemo treats cancer throughout the body, sort oif a broad area approach. If the original cancer was removed and now it is only in the kidney then they may decide to remove the kidney and the cancer in the kidney. They also could opt fpor one of several other targeted treatments such as radiation or cyber knife. To know exacty what the options are you need to talk with the Drs and ask them to expalin all of the options including the risks and rewards of each ioption. Sometimes you have to ask questions like this to get the Drs to think aboutr all of the options instead of going right to the standard answer. Good Luck

its important that you have the cancer tested for its mutations.. go to:" Lets test now" to learn why it could help you with a targeted treatment plan. Make sure you are in the hands of LUNG CANCER experts and you are at the best cancer center you can find. And Peroll answer is also correct on treamtnet options but you might have targeted drugs available too.
