What to do when cancer has spread to bones 11 years after surgery?

Have had pain in back, and knee for many years. had knee replacement 4 years ago. Arthritis. When pain got worse which really started last summer, I became suspicious though no one had ever said that my kind of cancer might spread to bones. I want to know what to do a about pain. It is not improving that much after shot ( for bones and pill (anti estrogen) for shrinkage and pain, and 4 tylenol each day. This was diagnosed Feb. 4. and is just really sinking in. I am 79 and have enjoyed a very actiev life until now.

You might want to have a conversation with your doctor about the medications you are taking. You don't say what kind of shot and anti estrogen medication you are taking, but the anti estrogen medication does not provide pain relief and the shot may not either.

Focused radiation really helped my husband's pain from spinal tumors.
