WhatNexter "Beachbum5817" has our dose of inspiration for the week with her story

She is seven months past that pivotal milestone of 5-year survivor. She has shared her story from finding the lump to diagnosis, through treatments, and on to survivorship. Take a look at it on our blog page here>> http://bit.ly/2LuqLNo

Hi, Beachbum! It is so good to know your story, and I know that everyone who reads this will feel very encouraged by what you wrote. And so glad you’re passed the five-year mark. You’ve really been through a lot.

Also very useful is seeing that you found your lump yourself, and that it hasn’t shown up on the mammogram you’d had only two months before. That’s scary, of course, but knowing this may get more women to do self-exams (though these days doctors do not recommend self-exams as much as they used to). And for dense breasts, ultrasound is recommended (to supplement mammograms).

      Hugs,

I don't know what to say except some parts at the beginning were somewhat like I've experienced, which had a lot of negative. You had a lot of support and love.I'm glad everything is going well for you.

Your story was truly inspirational. Brought back a few memories that I had forgotten. Your perseverance with your strong family support only goes to show how important it is to have another involved in your journey with you. The 10-year mark will be here before you know it.
