    Where to go from here?

My dad just finished his 7 weeks of radiation and chemo for category 4 glioblastoma - post surgery. He is supposed to have an MRI on 12/17. He is to go down to 1 week of chemo monthly. Does anyone have information on this chemo? Is it the same as the oral chemo taken with radiation? Any side effects?

My husband was diagnosed with GBM Sept. 2010. He had a craniotomy then the same treatment your father is having. He took Temodar once a month for almost a year. He had very little side effects. Best advice I got was to have him take a nausea pill 30 minutes before bed then take the chemo at bedtime. He will sleep through any nausea that may occur. Worked like a charm. The only side effect we noticed was constipation during that week of chemo. Just have him take a maintenance dose of a stool softener and he should do well.

Thank you for the advice. Dad took the meds at night as suggested with little to no nausea. He is still experiencing some fatigue, but has been removed from the chemo since something showed up on his CT. Neurosurgeon put him back on a steroid to make sure necrosis does not grow/ cause swelling.
