I participated in our Relay for Life last weekend and sold hats that I crocheted. We do ours before it gets too hot here in Yuma Arizona where the high temperatures are over 100 degrees for 4 or more months.

I'm participating at the Reston, VA event this weekend, May 12-13. Last year my goal was to make one loop around the track. It's amazing the difference a year makes.

Our Polk County relay is June 9th and 10th this year in Independence Or. My husband has been team captain for the fire/ems department for 4 years. This year it really hit home with my diagnosis of bc in Jan. I'm very excited to be participating as a survivor this year. We will be doing a packing for a cure relay where we invited teams from neighboring fire stations to relay with us, only they will be in turn outs, and breathing from SCBAs walking. So far we have a wonderful interest and looks like it will be a fun event.

I did a Relay for Life on April 14-15 at the University of San Francisco (CA) and will do another at Crissy Field in San Francisco on August 4-5 to honor my friend Barbara who lost her battle April 22. There will be at least six luminaria to honor family and friends.

I participated this past weekend with my husband/caregiver. Ours is held in our hometown in Pa. I'm not sure what the final $ total was but the love total was enormous!!!! I usually stop by to buy a luminary for my mom but this year I'm the one with the survivor in treatment luminary! A great way to raise money for cancer!!!

My (now) 17 year old daughter is doing it for the 3rd year in a row, in honor of her dad, who was diagnosed almost 3 years ago with colon cancer...i chaperone. Although this will be the last year that they need a chaperone, I will continue to be with these wonderful kids every year.
