    Why is it?

OK... Why is it that I'm getting so many horrible people send me email requests. I can't accept email invitations from anyone on this site anymore because the two I did accept were so rude it's ridiculous.... The first one wanted my private information so I could open an account in Africa with my own funds... etc etc... total scam

The second one was looking for a husband.... guess my picture must look really bad huh?

Look I know the majority of us are looking for information and someone to discuss the issues we have in common. Why is the vultures are picking at us? Is cancer enough?

    Thanks for letting me rant!

We ban phishers and spammers/scammers when we find them, but we don't always know unless members report them to us. Something else I might suggest is when ever you receive a request for email exchange, look at the persons profile/wall/activity on this s etc. If they have just joined or have no activity (have not posted experiences, questions, comments, etc.) you might want to consider holding off accepting the email request until they have actually participated in some way on the site.

I'm sorry you got those. Like Nancy said we ban them as soon as we see them. Try as we might there are still idiots that do this, even on a site like this. You would think that these people would let a site like this be left alone. I believe a lot of that stuff is automated, and they don't know what kind of site it is.
If you, or anyone else reading this, gets anything like this please forward me the user name/and or/ the whole email. I will delete them from the site.
They never last more than a day or so on the site, then I delete them when we find them.

Let me know if you see anything, and, if you still have that email would you please forward it to me? greg at whatnext.com

I found it, and that account has been killed. As I have posted in other places on this site. If anyone sees anything like this, please bring it to my attention. I need either a user name or email address. I will kill their account and it also kills all posts made by them.

Thanks to you all for helping us keep this site clean from the idiot's.

I'm so sorry that you got phised. I've been lucky so far - only a few incorporate comments on my wall. BTW your pic looks great.

I'm almost afraid to comment as this hasn't happened to me yet here and I'm usually a magnet for this stuff. I can tell you, if I was into Russian mail order brides, I could populate the state of Delaware just with the offers.

Glad to know the site will take care of the issue for us. This is not the place.,

And I've been lucky - no email requests at all. I only have one email connection from this site - someone who definitely needed more than was on the board, in an area of my expertise (and I reached out to them). So far, I think we are both pleased with the contact.

      I'll report any phishing.

I also received one from Senirat4u. Like Greg said just forward the e-mails to him :) I was upset when I received it but it just isn't worth our energy. Keep smiling, keep fighting, and don't worry about it :)

I have also had two wanting to share emails that were looking for more than the sharing about our cancer experiences. I did not respond, one was for a husband and I am a married woman. I hope this doesn't keep the positive purpose and good intent of being able to connect with people for emotional issues and dealing with our side effects.

Amazing, I have a 22 year old that has 6,000,000.00 and is looking for love. lol I think it is halarius. This is the email I was sent through WhatzNext:

My Dearest Dearest One, May peace of God be with you and your family,My name Jessica Seye Aluko by name.As a devoted God fearing Christan , I am not only believing in this life to live by my own whim and wish, but I also believe in the Eternal Life which is more important than this life. Where sincerity, trust and honesty are the main basic facts and requirements of any human being but very specially for a woman. But at my age now, what i am looking for is a man that we shall be there for each other and enjoy the rest of our lives together. I am a young orpharn Christan girl 22years,and i wish to settle down with a God fearing man that is trustworthy, but what i want at present is relationship and support for the following matter. My Father is very wealthy business man and i am the only surviving daughter of my late father before he died, during his lifelime he took me so special because am the only surviving daughter out of 4children, i lost my mother when i was 6years old so i dont have any motherly care thats why am always with my father till the point of death, according to the medical report it was reveal that my father was poissonned and the only person that was suspected is my uncle who travelled with him, My father told me before his death that he has the sum of $6,000,000.00 (Six Millions US dollar) from his fixed account and am the only next of kin to this account and i will like you to please for the sake of God help me in getting this fund into your country, and i want you to be there for me to help me faithfully and receive this fund in your Bank Account so that when i come to your country, we shall establish the money on a profitable real estate business as you know that am still tender in age to handle an issue like this.So this is a very urgent matter and i am worried to take the effect immediately if you are ready to be there for me faithfully. When i hearback from you, i will share more vital with you about the matter.you can contact me trough this mail [email redacted] Yours in christ ALUKO JESSICA SEYE

What upsets me so is this person/persons are using God's name to pray on the weak and sick. And it also take up valuble time from the webmaster to deal with stupid people doing this. I come here to get advice, read others life altering events. Not to find a 22 year old with more money than she knows what to do with. If any of you think this is real, not only can you tell this persons english is even worse than mine, what woman at the age of 22 would want a dying man with cancer that is not one bit interested in money or running a business. Again I am sorry for the webmaster.

As always this is my view and my be overlooked.

Change all of your passwords. Just a precaution. And make sure your antivirus and anti-spam software is up to date.
