Does anyone know a good place to get a discount on wigs? We have a local hospital that gives you a free one but we have already used that option a few years ago when my mom was first diagnosed. We are looking for a good quality one that can be purchased for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance!

Click on the resources tab at the top of the page, then click on the American Cancer Society site they have a program that will help in most areas.

Your local hospital may not have a cap on how often you can take advantage of their generosity. In Indianapolis free gently used wigs can be found at Little Red Door and "Look Good, Feel Better (offered through our local American Cancer Society) offer free gently used wigs. Your medical oncologist and radiation oncologist office may also have previously worn wigs donated by previous patients. Many insurance companies will offer a percentage of reimbursement for brand new wigs. Don't discount your local oncology offices, it is unfortuanate but many patients purchase very expensive fashionable wigs and do not get the chance to wear them as much as they thought they might. Last ditch but you never know-Salvation Army, AMVETS, Goodwill-there may be a treasure hidden in the corner. GOOD LUCK!
