Will be having 5 treatments of radiation for 5 weeks in September when I finish Taxol.

How does radiation work and affect you ?

I have anal cancer and chemo was a walk in the park compared to my radiation. My radiation was 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Listen to your radiation oncologist, whatever they tell you to do, do it. I made it through it, keep your thoughts positive and good luck.

I haven't had chemo so I don't have anything to compare it too but radiation was pretty easy. I just layed down on a table and let the machine do it's thing. I was pretty tired afterward and I couldn't drive or work but I also had it done to my brain. Just keep your head up and keep the faith!!

Radiation was a non-event compared to chemo. The entire treatment takes about 30 minutes and most of that time is taken being sure you are in the correct position. I did have skin burns at the very end, but mostly an inconvenience. Just be sure to use the lotions your radiology team recommends. Good luck.
