There is a shortage of some gerneic chemo drugs that have been used for a number of years but they do not include zelboraf. Zelboraf is a fairly new and promising drug for melonoma, just approved last fall for general use by the FDA. What is probably going on is that the manufacture (Roche) is having some issues anticipating demand and ramping up production to meet the demand. This means that some suppliers (pharmacies) will run out and you may have to seek other supplies. This is apparently not uncommon when new drugs come out, particularly ones that are in more convienient pill form like zelboraf. Hopefully the supply will fix its self over the next few months, but until then I would suggest making sure that you reorder early to be sure you can get the supply you need. Good Luck

I checked the shortage list on the FDA website and there appears to be no shortage. However, this drug was just approved last year so I imagine the demand is great. I have attached a link where you might find an answer. By the way, check on www.needymeds.com. I noticed it is on the list of brand name drugs and you can get the coupon for an annual reduction in out of pocket cost to you. Best of luck, Carm RN.
